Rainbow Cup

A little bit of every colour, brought together in one cup. The Rainbow collection celebrates the simple joy of colour, combining soft shades of pink, blue, yellow and green in a pattern that feels playful, balanced and full of movement.

Creating the fine lines is a slow but fascinating process. We begin with generous amounts of coloured porcelain, pressing and layering them together again and again until the colours form fine, flowing lines. With every step, the pattern transforms. The lines shift and flow in their own way, and although we guide the process, we can never fully control how they will move. Part of the joy is watching the design emerge as the porcelain changes.

The cup also combines two Nerikomi techniques, bringing together the flowing lines and a confetti-like pattern. This contrast gives the design its own character, balancing the calm rhythm of the lines with a more playful burst of colour.

The cup is shaped using a traditional Japanese technique that forms the piece from a single slab of clay. This creates its soft, flowing shape without hard edges, making it smooth and comfortable to hold.

The pattern develops differently in every piece, making each cup unique.
